You misunderstand me.

I have very little faith in any figure that claims to be 'corrected' -
as this almost always means it's being fudged to make it look more
favourable to the target audience of the person producing said figure.

Maybe I'm just sick of marketing people quoting 'corrected' or
'seasonally adjusted' figures to me.....

Yeah but it's based on known quantities and is pretty simple. Probably GCSE
physics FFS!

And anyway, it wont always make the figures look more favourable.

Yeah, I understand exactly what the theories are.

All I'm saying is that 'corrected' figures are almost always used to
hide something / fiddle the figures to show what you want them to show.

I deal with 'corrected' figures all the time - but no matter how sound
the theory is behind them, they'll always be a fiddle.
