Hi all.

Missus has got it into her head that she fancies a Vee Dubbya Tow-Rag. Not a
new one. Probably something around 06. Anything particular to look out for ?
Anything considered particularly bad about them ? Petrol or diesel ? Engine
size ? Any thoughts - practical, owning, or repairing - appreciated. What
about any similar sized / aged motors from Nissan or Toyota or Audi or what
have you. Anything in that sort of size considered a much better buy than
the others ?

TIA

Arfa

These have too many problems, mainly reflects on the country in which
they were made.

Be interesting to see the full service history including the warranty work.

So what are the inherent problems with vehicles built in Slovakia?

Anything other than the V10TDi is a cop-out. Other than that engine, and
the straight five, it's just a rebadged Cayenne.

I suppose the 4.2 or 6.0 would be OK as well, but I have to agree, the
V10 would have to be the one.

Sorry I don't know enough about them to comment beyond that, and 'get a
bloody warranty'. Even if the reliability is good, parts will be
shocking, Someone on a forum recently had a narrow escape with a Phaeton
V10 autobox. If you can, get it scanned with VCDS, there's a shitload of
electronics.
