I had a crazy mate do that in one of the original old 3 cylinder Suzuki things years ago, but to make it interesting he tried crossing the Maribyrnong River near the Angliss Hotel wearing scuba gear and hooking a home made snorkel to the engine. At that point the river is about 30 feet deep, and he got around half way across before there were a few bubbles and his head popped up on the surface. Apparently he was going along quite well but with zero visibility he hit a rock the size of a Volkswagen and stalled the engine and that was the end of it. As far as I'm aware, the little Suzi is still parked where he left it :) -- Regards, Noddy.

Sorta like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eboNORRVPmA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gqydkK0arc was also an episode of Thunder Races (discovery UK) where they had to build cars capable of driving under water, the water was about 3 metres deep and about 50 metres long and they had to wear scuba gear Kev

At a depth of 10 Metres, the pressure is approximately 1 atmosphere. Would this not cause severe back-pressure problems with the exhaust? -- Trevor Wilson www.rageaudio.com.au |
