Unless it's *wide* open, you still have to give time to wind it down.

Yes, even when it's pissing down - through long habit, perhaps a result
of riding motorcycles and much to the annoyance of my passengers. I get
in, open the window and it usually stays open, even upto motorway
speeds. Irrespective, the window will be wound down as soon as speeds
slow down. It's only water.
