Yes, I do

The only reason to be concerned is because you can't see for that brief
moment until the little wiper elf in the dashboard decides he can't see
either.

Anyway, what's "fiddly" about extending one finger and flicking - without
looking?

In what way?

They merely start the wipers going, vary the delay between wipes, and
stop the wipers.

Which bit of that can I not do with one finger and a greater degree of
pre-emption?

At the very worst, I anticipate it in exactly the same manner as the elf
does. At the best, I considerably preempt it.

What's "fiddly"?

I do, thanks. The wipers are doing what I want them to do, 100% of the
time, guaranteed.

So it's a case of "Any gadget must be better", is it? No gadget at all
that you can think of that's a bit un-necessary and pointless?

What about lane-departure bottomwobblers? Road sign echoing in the dash?
IR night-vision displays in the dash?

How do you define the delay for variable-speed intermittent? I've always
wondered how this is done, having only ever driven cars with two-speed
continuous (plus flick-wipe) or else fixed intermittent or auto wipe.

You mean you press the flick-wipe control on the wiper stalk each time you
need the screen wiping? Yes, that's what I tend to do on the 308 if the
intermittent wipe is too frequent or not frequent enough?

Depends. On some it's a separate control, either a rotary cuff on the
stalk or a slider. On others, you flick intermittent on and off, pause,
then back on. To change the delay, off and get a "mark" wipe, pause, then
back on.

Exactly that.
