If you're not worried about the next owner, then there's no reason to change
it at all. My dad worked with a guy back in the day who had a '72 full
sized buick with over 100,000 miles on it. The drain plug had never been
out of it. He changed the filter once a year and kept it full.

For severe operating conditions:

The '71 says "more frequent intervals", no time or mileage specified
The '83 says 3 months, 3000 miles, oil filter every other oil change
