Have used it for years in all my cars and love it. You are 100% right
Steve it is 100% Synthetic and that is why I like it.

Mobil 1 has never been 100% synthetic. The base stock used to be 100%
synthetic, and due to the Castrol versus Exxon-Mobil lawsuit and
subsequent settlement, they can still call the current base stock (group
III hydrocracked petroleum) 100% synthetic in the United States (but not
in Europe where synthetics have to be true synthetics).

The additives have never been synthetic, just the base stock.

I don't even think that there are any PAO based synthetics (group IV)
oils that are API certified, still available in the U.S.. Everyone,
including Amsoil, switched to the less expensive group III base stock.
There are still non-API certified group IV oils that are available.

Based upon the test that was run on BITOG, I am pretty sure Castrol
Syntec 0W30 is still PAO, but it is one of the few. You have to get
the bottle that is labeled "Made in Germany" and it is only sold at
Autozone in the US.

LOL, it could become a good business, just like people import Coca-Cola
that is sweetened with sugar rather than corn syrup. Import synthetic
oil from places where synthetic oil has to be formulated from synthetic
base stock.

Mobil 1 Extended Life Synthetic Oil is already distributed in the USA. This
is different than the normal Mobil 1 oil.
