Someone needs to be in the office to take bookings, answer the phone,
collect the cash, ensure vehicles are booked in for their safety checks and
other maintenance and all the other admin for (possibly) several hundred
vehicles and drivers. Just like a shop manager but unlike a "middle
manager", especially one who hasn't yet been able to tell us how the
business would come crashing down if there was no one doing his job.

As yet, no one has invented a means of doing the paperwork whilst driving a
lorry.

On the contrary, it's you who's demonstrating that you do a non-job. You
should be ashamed of taking money under false pretences. Therefore if you
had any backbone you would resign immediately and find a useful job to do
that suits your abilities and intellect.

Ever thought of lorry driving?

I give up.

You obviously have a belief that all managers are completely able and
capable to self manage.

If this is the case, lets sack entire boards of directors and replace
them with one single store manager who can run the entire company
without any help from other sources.

You're almost as thick as our resident YMFs.

As always when confronted with an idea outside your narrow experience you
have to resort to stupidity. Shame, because once you get rid of the chip on
your shoulder you might start getting somewhere.

But not as thick as most "middle managers".
