No, they were at war with Germany.

You're absolutely correct, but since Hamas is the Government in Gaza
Israel has claimed the right to stop military supplies from reaching
Hamas in Gaza.

By your argument, the blockade would be quite OK if Israel declared
war on Gaza (as the allies did to Germany in response to the Nazis'
acts of war)!

Much better just to have the blockade on Gaza and prevent Hamas from
waging theirs I would've thought! :)

No, because a declaration of war on Gaza would itself be illegal.
