The RAC let me down badly in 1961, never used them since.
In 2001 Green flag left me waiting five and a half hours for
attendance, never used them since.

They all work together anyway, if you need to be piggy backed home as
like as not a contractors vehicle will arrive, these are usually
contracted to all the different breakdown services taking work as it
occurs from them all.

Last year when the Smart broke it was comical as the attendant
'operative' obviously didn't have a clue, as we had waited two hours
already for Mr Clueless then another 3 hours for the piggy back I was
happy to be lifted the 200 miles home as SWMBO and I were both
knackered by then.

Indeed. Not one but two battery boosters. But no batteries for sale.

Will you be doing anything next year to mark the 50th anniversary of your
vendetta?

I'm hoping for a damn sight more than that. If they'd arrived within the
hour as stated and taken us straight home we'd have been there by about
4pm instead of 9 pm.

You'd have to know what it would have cost privately.
But they are strange. Years ago they took me and the SD1 back from Devon -
again with a failed water pump. It's the same pump as used on many Rangies
etc and takes about an hour to change - and this was about 10am on a
weekday.

Did I? Perhaps you'd like to tell me where else in Driffield would be
cheaper?

It was free. How much more of a bargain do you get than that?
