Not even close; Alabama is a paradise compared to PA. It's
getting better by the year, too, with the local-option law.
PA has some of the craziest liquor laws of any state.

I got here from California and went into a supermarket to buy beer on
a Sunday. Picked up a 12 pack, walked up front and put it on the
counter and you would have thought I put a disemboweled 6 month old
there. The look on her face was sheer terror.

"You can't buy that!"

Damn near killed me. Then I had to go looking for the Shoppette on
post to buy it.
