A lot of drivers have every right to be scared, because they're simply not capable of processing information quickly enough. I'm slightly surprised not to see the Coventry Ring Road on the list - I assume not enough people go there for it to show up in a poll, but it is truly scary. Nine numbered junctions in under two miles. "Four grade separated junctions per mile simply don't fit, and there are two results. The first is that the majority of the Ring Road's mileage is spent passing through junctions with almost no distance actually between them. The second is that this is the road equivalent of a fairground ride - frightening but an awful lot of fun!" http://www.cbrd.co.uk/indepth/coventryringroad/map.shtml -- Mike Barnes

Certainly nearly petrified me as a visiting schoolboy, but I overcame, no transmuted, my terror, and ran for the trottoir.

Nine numbered junctions in under two miles. The Coventry ring road is an abomination, a bit like the rest of Coventry.
