From: Paul S on 15 Jan 2007 14:49 Can't believe how difficult I've found finding a car privately. B*****d illegal immigrant turned right into me when I was going straight on on a main road, writing off my beloved old Peugeot 205, and has ruined my life for the past few weeks. Spent hours on Fri and Sat trawling through Autotrader, Loot and Fishforcars, and had a list of about 20 to ring up, provided I could find 2 or 3 in roughly the same location to make it worthwhile. Ended up with 1 car out of the lot that was still unsold. So I was wondering, has anyone had any success buying Part Exers from Main Dealers. The idea being they just woant to get rid and wouldn't want to retail them.

Go in to a garage and ask - you might get it for next to nothing. It costs the garage to have cars taken away so they will jump at the chance of a profit for nothing. Top Gear once bought a Volvo for 1 although that was a stunt for the TV.

Thanks Paul Just some detail on what I've been looking for so far; 98-00 Astra 99-01 Rover 25 Mk 2 Peugeot 106 98> Clio 1.2/1.4 98> Peugeot 306 1.6/1.9TD 99-01 Ibiza 1.4/1.9TD 98-02 Megane 1.6 98> Saxo 1.1/1.4 I don't HAVE to be limited by a budget, but I've been searching between 500 - 2000, up to 100k miles, and at least some service history, even if it's been done by the owner. Are there any other web sites for private cars. For P/X's would I have to ring up every week, or would they ring/e-mail me.
