That isn't a tax _on 4x4 vehicles_. It's a tax on all vehicles.

Umm, you won't die without a TV, y'know.

'course, you could try to go without paying anything towards the cost of
the commercial TV channels. That'd be quite an achievement, b'sides the
subtle detail that the average household pays many times the TV licence
cost towards those commercial TV channels - even before you count
subscriptions to pay channels & services.

My current 4WD costs less to tax and insure than most of the 2WD
vehicles in "the fleet", and it costs the same to tax as a baby Merc
A-class. The intended next 4WD will cost less than the A-class to tax.

That would be the Fiat Panda 4x4 then? :-)
