Its not much of a point..

The point is that a Company Secretary would normally take on the role of
keeper for a company.
If there is no CoSec, a director must fulfill the obligations of the
role of CoSec..
If papers were addressed to 'the CoSec of XYZ Ltd' a director would be
obliged to deal with them, they can't argue 'we haven't got one, tough'.

So, if you want to be pedantic about naming conventions at limited co's,
carry on, it won't change the issue..
The person who put their name on the logbook is the responsible person.

So how do you propose to deal with the (very common case) where the CoSec
is a limited company?

Or the individual who signed the V5C no longer works there?

This has been DEALT with elsewhere in the thread, do keep up.

When you fill in a logbook there is a space which reads something like
Title - Mr, Mrs, Ms or Company
Then Surname and First Name.

You MUST enter a name in Surname and First Name - if you don't the
logbook will be returned to you for completion (been there, done it).
This is the keeper, the company title will be used only to indicate that
it does belong to company, rather the keeper.

If you put a Ltd Co that acts as a CoSec, it doesn't really matter as
the DVLA still have a real person named.

If an individual who signed has left - its their lookout - on resigning
part of their duties should have been to remove themselves from such
documents..

Explaining simple things to cyclists is rather like nailing jelly to the
ceiling.

Whatever. The driver can always be traced. Simples.
