Update on throttle body clean / replacement air pipe .. all wentwrong
On 24/06/10 17:43, Stephen wrote: My neighbour who's an ex audi tech said I should just get the throttle body aligned by diagnostic computer and see how it drives from there or just drive it around for a while as I tampered with the throttle body and it should usually re-learn the settings and idle correc... 25 Jun 2010 13:13

mk4 golf 1.6 8v 1999 AEH engine code After replacing the air pipe between the airbox and throttle body with a new pipe as old one was damaged. All replaced well, new jubilee clips on and VW ones shoved in the bin. I now have eratic or hunting as the mechanic called it. Basically in drive everything is fine ... 25 Jun 2010 14:19
fuel pump relay check
After my car was diagnosed with fuel starvation by recovery, my first response was to buy a new petrol pump, but have since learnt I'd better check the pump relay and the actual pump first. I checked what fuses (1994 Corolla) I can find, that's one by the passenger foot well and more under the bonnet but I cann... 28 Jun 2010 03:03
Power steering pipe
Hi, me again... The bodge I did to stop the powersteering pipe (cooling pipe?) from leaking hasn't worked. It's a pipe that comes down from the PS pump, goes to the front of the car and then returns, having seemingly done nothing useful. Anyway, the pipe is sometimes rubber, sometimes metal, and the metal sect... 29 Jun 2010 08:35
2001 1.2 Corsa now MOT'd but ..
Right, some advice again please. They have just got daughters b/f's 1.2 Corsa back from MOT > work done in Scotland (CV gaiters, handbrake and light aim adjust) and they have offered it to us for 600. It's a 4 dr, could tow a small trailer (handy for her chainsaw carving stuff, the Ka can't tow) and she just pr... 24 Jun 2010 09:39

Cannot find a pump.
Petrol stopped being pumped up to the injectors on a 1994 Corolla 1.3GlI. So i'm looking for a new pump, I dont want to go to Toyota on principal having been stung before. I've rung three local car factors (north west London) and none of them say they can help. Two breakers said they could not help and the th... 23 Jun 2010 08:27
Belmont stolen, recovered now?
Hi All, Just a bit of vehicle crime feedback and some thoughts / questions if I may. So, we get a call from the Police at 9 this morning saying our (93, 1.4) Belmont had been recovered and was in a local Ontime pound. I asked if it was drivable and she said it had been involved in a RTC. We popped round and h... 23 Jun 2010 16:15
Brake fluid in the power steering reservoir
Hi, Imagine if someone was stupid enough to top up (maybe 50ml) the power steering reservoir with brake fluid. And then run the car for ~20 miles, with a leak in the power steering system, so that the level in the reservoir went down by 50ml again in 24hr. I then patched the leak (dont ask!) and realised my... 22 Jun 2010 14:59
Changing starter motor on Corsa C
The starter motor has died on my 52 plate Corsa 1.7DTI so I'm looking at replacing it. Has anybody done this/a similar replacement and if so, what's the best way to get at the starter motor itself? I can't figure out if it'll be easier to approach it from above or below as there seems to be loads of stuff in the... 29 Jun 2010 19:40
