(sic) It's ironic that the very people who would benefit most from automatic transmission are those who should be warned off driving them because they are liable to have problems controlling the car if their foot slips on the accelerator. At least with a manual you use the clutch as the initial means of controlling your speed as you set off from rest and if your foot slips all that will happen is that youwill let the clutch in too quickly and stall the engine.
