Only once had an issue with a windscreen installation, the new screen
was scratched so a week later they came back and replaced it.
I asked a fitter if the quality of windscreens vary and he didn't think
so, most if not all is made in China and whilst I would agree that they
aren't up to the standard they used to be and they get "sand blasted" a
lot easier than they used to there doesn't seem to much of a choice of
suppliers as most get their screens from the same source.
IMO even OE screens aren't as good as they used to be, I replaced the 03
Hilux windscreen at 150,000klms due to "sandblasting" but the 09 Hilux
windscreen is starting to look sandblasted at 50,000klms.

You know OBrians probably use the same glass and charge $200 more just
to fit it to cover their franchise payments

their "Quality" glass is made in the same factory as the glass other
auto glass fitters use, they don't have it specially made or have their
own factory
