Illegal aliens aren't the only ones causing DUI accidents, Speedy. Your
loaded headline implies that somehow illegals are the main cause. Fatal DUI
accidents occurred long before the illegal alien problem.

Deadly Crash Still Unresolved

March 6 - One year ago, a Kansas woman was killed in a crash on West
Kellogg. Her family is still waiting for justice. It took eight months for
charges to be filed against the driver involved. His trial is scheduled for
next month. In the meantime, her loved ones are celebrating her life and
spreading her joy.

Paige and Jared Estes were high school sweethearts. They were married in
September of 2004. Six months later, Paige died in a car crash. Her husband
says it's been a hard year without his wife.

One year ago, the couple was driving home from Old Town on Kellogg when a
Porsche rear ended their car. Their Toyota slammed into barrier walls and
caught fire. Jared suffered severe burns but Paige didn't make it out alive.
Jared has been in and out of hospitals since the crash. He says it's all
secondary to the loss of Paige.

The anniversary of Paige's death isn't easy, but her family and friends are
trying to turn something bad into something good. On Sunday, they celebrated
her life with pictures and mementos. They've also set up a memorial in her
name, giving the money to Bucklin students and the burn unit.

The driver of the Porsche, Louis Kebert, faces reckless second-degree murder
charges for the accident that killed paige. Kebert had two DUI convictions
prior to that accident. His trial has been set for April 10th, the day that
would have been Paige's 25th birthday.

Jared doesn't know what will happen, but he has faith there will be justice.
In the meantime, the family has set up a scholarship at the Bucklin high
school in paige's name. To be eligible for the scholarship, students must be
a member of Students Against Drunk Driving for all four years of high
school.
