From: odiep51 on 9 Mar 2007 13:37 Hello, I own a 96 Dodge Ram 4x4 (dana 44 front end) with a 5.9lt, recently with the heavy snowfall I broke the right front axle shaft and I'm looking for a new one and possibly something aftermarket that would be stronger. Does anyone know where I can get this part for a reasonable price. The replacement part number from dodge is 4746728 and it's $517 from the dealer. Thanks

Remember though that axle shafts are kinda like fuses and it is better to break on of them than ring and pinion. You must be running some big tires if you broke it. If you seriously want to beef it up, money would be better spent on a stronger front axle assembly. http://www.differentials.com/products.html ----------------- TheSnoMan.com
