From: GT on 12 Aug 2010 09:13 Driving down the M90, approaching the Forth Road Bridge from the north side yesterday and one of the new(ish) overhead electronic signs appeared to be carrying an advert!! I have forgotten the product, but it said either "RedEx is mandatory" or "RainX is mandatory". I've never seen an advert on one of these signs before - either someone hacked into the system and put the advert up, or the authorities are now selling the space for advertising when they are not required for traffic information. I did not imagine or dream this! Anyone else seen anything like this?

I think it says RED X IS MANDATORY, and possibly refers to the 'lane closed' symbol on overhead gantries. There's another large black sign just before it, and I don't think I've ever seen anything at all on it - apart from some moving red dots, which is either a screen saver or a subliminal message (calling JG Ballard!). -- Halmyre
