Has anybody ever seen the Truvelo speed cameras that not also have the
piezo strips but the Gatso style calibration marks too?

Well be warned these Truvelos not only get you from the front, they
can now get you from behind! I know this to be true as I recently went
through one (speeding slightly) that was facing the opposite side of
the road and it flashed me as I went through it and over the gatso
lines. I always believed the gatso line to have either been left from
a previous camera installation, or just painted as a bluff. Even after
it flashed me I thought that it was probably a dummy flash.

I now have an NIP - proof that this Truvelo camera can do both forward
and rear facing detection.

The camera in question is on Common Road, Kensworth, Beds. It is
situated opposite the Farmers Boy pub. It can be turned to monitor
either side of the road using front facing detection and when it's
pointing west (towards Whipsnade) it also uses rear facing detection.

Lesson learned!

I've never been got from behind and don't intend to in the future.

Truvelo always have had the ability to take a 'rear facing' picture,
it's just down to whether the authorities chose to use it...

Presumably there is no risk of a standard GATSO being modified to take a
*front* facing photo?

You're going to confine yourself to getting done from the front, eh?

....or do you mean you keep your back to the wall when in dubious company?

Best wishes all,
Dave.
