If you'd have caused an accident and your car was inspected you may have been done for it. I can't remember when I last failed an MOT but then my car is service 2-3 times a year so stuff gets picked up more often. I'd have thought defective ball joints would have been noticable as noise or feeling in the steering. -- And remember kids, RAID is safe and the UPS never fails, and Cisco routers never develop intermittent faults, and external hard drives never fail with only a month's use.

Not knowing it is defective how else would I get it to the test station (actually the mechanic who did the service drove it to the test station) > I can't remember when I last failed an MOT but then my car is service > 2-3 times a year so stuff gets picked up more often. This is the first time a car of mine has failed an MOT that is because I always have a service beforehand to rectify any problems. Unfortunately due to the hols the garage is closed till next Monday when the repairs will be done and a retest taken. According to the Mechanic the joint is not in any imminent danger of collapsing but has enough play in it to fail the test. -- Corporal Jones "I don't like it up me" |
