From: Howard Evans on 19 Jan 2010 12:33 Didn't want to go out this A.M. but was required @ hospital. Heavy fog, visibility about 275-300 feet. Drivers running w/no lights and some were running in excess of 60 MPH. A school bus was running over 65. Called the bus service and was informed that the driver was late in getting to pick-up point. On divided roadway while returning, a lady of about 80 YO was straddling the white line dividing lanes and was going at least 15 MPH. Cops and EMTs can't handle the volume of wrecks. Fortunately, so far, no fatalities just lots of sheet metal needing corrective measures.

I learned a long time ago that in limited visibility conditions, it's safest to run without lights on. It attracts too much attention from LEOs. Better to run stealth. Most were probably going too fast though, with or without lights on. >A school bus was running over > 65. There is no excuse for that. > Called the bus service and was informed that the driver was late > in getting to pick-up point. Better late than never. The driver should have his license yanked, immediately and permanently. I'm not referring to his commercial license. I mean any license. -Dave

Sounds like she had the speed right. In heavy fog everyone should keep it under 20.
