People are starving for many reasons, some of them related to America.

America is growing corn for ethanol.

American corporations benefit from the corruption.

America promotes cash crops instead of sustainable food growing.

America promotes fast food for the world, most of it wasteful meat.

America is not interested in changing the above conditions.

Let's elaborate on this last point:

(I quote)

The belief that world hunger can be solved by increasing food
production is an unsubstantiated myth. It has lead to policies by
international organs that have supported farming policies that in
practice have boosted production of expensive export foods on the
expense of production of basic foods for the population.

The real problem is poverty. As the market responds to money and not
to actual need, it can only work to eliminate hunger when purchasing
power is widely dispersed according to Rosset. As the rural poor are
increasingly pushed from land, they are less and less able to demand
for food on the market. Promoting free trade to alleviate hunger has
proven to be a failure. In most developing countries exports have
boomed while hunger has continued unabated or actually worsened
according to the book.

....

Conclusion

The world could feed itself if food policies were based on facts an
not on myths as presently. The fact is that there is no scarcity of
food. The real reason for the world hunger problem is poverty. This
requires political and not agrotechnical solutions.

That one I'll buy. ADM, and the Congresscritters in their pay, should be in
jail.

Agree. The Left are not enemies of corporate fascism, they're leaders in it.

> America promotes cash crops instead of sustainable food growing.

Because the federal government subsidizes water projects and, in return,
requires farmers get theirs at a discount.

> America promotes fast food for the world, most of it wasteful meat.

There's nothing wasteful about meat. The people of India and China would be
able to afford it if they'd stop breeding babies they can't afford to feed.

However, nobody is starving because they are lazy, either (or because
their gov'ts are "too socialist").

Them belly full, but we hungry;
A hungry mob is a angry mob.
A rain a-fall, but the dirt it tough;
A pot it cook, but d' food no 'nough.

I think the Right Wingers love immigration (besides the fact that they
provide cheap labor)...

A hungry people become immigrants of the countries where people are
fat.
