(Speaking of poor fuel consumption) Was reading an old Street Machine at the Docs the other day and
there was a couple of blokes that drove their V8 from the Gold Coast to the RNA Showgrounds in
Brisbane and it cost them in excess of $300 of fuel, return trip. They did mention that they were
"testing throttle responce" on the way up to Brisbane by laying long strips of rubber on the M1 when
flooring it at 110!!!

Come to think of it the mag was most likely in excess of 5-8 years old so fuel was a damn sight
cheaper then as well. Makes it even worse I suppose.

If the ute was empty the Getz would win easily but if the Rodeo is
anything like the Hilux a load of at least 150kg settles down the ride
considerably making it quite comfortable.

Oh, right.

Glad you cleared it all up for us and added something really educational :)

They must have had some pretty decent power on tap, or awfully shithouse
tyres :)

I had an engine once that used 20 gallons of methanol per mile.

Yeah, it does, but it's still a choppy ride.

Not that I'm ever likely to own one, but for what it's worth I find the Getz
to be a *very* comfortable and smooth riding little car that handles
exceptionally well.
