No, not necessarily. If the other driver's front hit the OP's side, then the
OP's car would not have hit the other driver's car. Only if the fronts of
the two vehicles had collided would the two vehicles each have hit the
other.

Exactly. Traffic joining a roundabout gives way to traffic on its right
which is already on the roundabout, but there is no rule defined for two
vehicles alongside each other, both of which are already on the roundabout -
which is what "It's in the Highway Code that you give way to your right on
roundabouts" could imply.
