nearmap.com http://www.nearmap.com/ has images updated which are often
less than a few weeks old (for the areas they photograph). The current
image for most of Sydney is 29th April 2010 (only delayed by processing
time) It also has old images (approx 2-3 weeks apart) so you can see how
things have changed.

Fantastic resolution as well, with most maps they have taken at a pixel
resolution of approx 7.5cm. Note these are taken from an aeroplane, not
a satellite.

Amazing, much better than Google, the photo of my house is much more
recent than Google, I can even see the new Forester parked in the
driveway and that's just under 4mths old.

A recent drug bust in Chermside was of interest so I cheacked out
Nearmap and you could see the progress of the plants from just being
planted out in Oct 2009 right up to March 2010 when they were over 3
metres high(4.2 was the tallest plant on the day of the raid in April)

Smart people. planted out plants just as construction of a new 3 story
unit complex commenced right next door and by the time of the raid you
could see them from the road

I thought the pics were taken from a satellite
