From: Harry K on 30 Jul 2010 23:47 Reached the top of the Lewiston, Id hill on US 95. This used to be a slow, twisty 8 or 9 mile climb from the river to the top of the canyon. Rebuilt back in the ?60s?) with a 6 mile grade. Steep and no slow corners. 5 percent top 3 and 6 percent bottom 3. 55mph going down, 65 up. Car ahead of me lit up its brakes almost as soon as they started down. Stayed on...and on...and on... I began to wonder if it were the taillights. Nope, the middle light was burning. Those brake lights stayed on for the entire grade except for one time when they went off for a couple seconds. I kept expecting smoke but nope. Harry K |
