The cyclist was clearly swerving to avoid the policeman.

Unless the policeman was making an arrest of a suspect, which he may
well have been, his actions were unjustified.

Way out of date and nothing to do with corking. The cop, Patrick
Pogan, was quite rightly fired. Seems there is sometimes justice.

The New York Times is reporting that New York police officer Patrick
Pogan has been fired from the department although Pogan’s lawyer says
he’s resigned. (No can’t fire me, I quit!) For those of you who don’t
remember, Pogan was video taped last year knocking a cyclist off his
bike during a Manhattan Critical Mass ride. A statement from the NYPD
says his firing was in relation to this incident."

I wonder what would have happened to him had this video not been taken
because you can be sure that to every one filmed there are numerous
incidents not recorded.
