It took a while but the old 55 mph signs have been removed from I74 before
it crosses the Mississippi River and they have been removed I280 before it
crosses the Mississippi.

Until just recently as soon as you crossed I280 into Illinois you would
still see those old Speed limit 55 signs. Now those signs are gone and they
even put up a new Speed Limit 65 sign that you see as soon as you cross the
I280 bridge into Illinois.

The last place I know of where there were still Speed Limit 55 signs was
about 10 miles in Springfield, Illinois. They had the old 55 mph signs on
I55 from MP 99 to MP 88 but they could be removed by now too.

I guess I'm going to give Quinn my vote on February 2nd.

I spoke to another driver and he makes it sound like the "Speed Limit 55"
signs have been removed in Springfield, Illinois too but he doesn't know
exactly where the speed limit changes on I55 around Chicago.
