Just where the M62 east bound splits into five separate lanes to go
west (M62), north(M1), or south(M1) I was in L1 to go north.

In L2 to go south and well ahead of me was a little Alpha. Five times
he swapped from L1 to L2 and back again with no indications, settling
(so I thought on L2). L1 by this time was moving faster, because L2
leads up to a roundabout and it was starting to queue.

I caught him up, came alongside him and felt reasonably safe having
already got well past the point where the thick solid line started -
wrong, no indication he/she just yanks the wheel over, leaving me to
try to avoid them.

Before Silk pipes up....

Yes I was already aware from their previous conduct that they might
still do something silly, but as L2 was stopping, plus the Alpha
stopping and L1 was still going at full speed, it would have been even
more risky to to slow down to the Alpha's speed and risk something
piling into the back of me.

It was also a reasonable assumption to make that no one would illegally
cross a one yard wide solid line to drive into the side of my vehicle.
You would also not expect the driver to be deaf and blind, for my
headlights were on main beam and my horn blaring, the instant they
started to cross the white line.

That's not illegal either.

Think again.

Still not illegal. Quote the regulation you think is relevant.

How long have you been driving Harry? I see stuff like that regularly on
and around the M25 and M4 towards London.
