Use Google Maps, but then I seem to recall you don't know how to use
Google.

A programme called "Autoroute" does exactly that.

If you give it additional data it will given an approximation of fuel, cost
and duration.

There are other route planning programmes but they're not as good IMO.

If you're too tight/can't afford to buy such a programme then Google Maps
will do the job, roughly.

A tip you might find useful. When posting to usenet, people will find it
easier to read your message if you use a short heading and put the bulk of
your message in the body.

The postcode of your departure point and the post code of your destination
are a good start.

Remember that other bit of advice from your youth, when all else fails read
the instructions.
