I know about it. I'm not impressed, because Vostok has been cut off from
the general climate of earth for some three million years. The ice cap
is in the grip of a permanent high pressure, which is why they so seldom
get any weather. Some parts of Antarctica haven't seen precip in
hundreds of years.

And while there is plenty of evidence of global warming along the
Antarctican coastline, there isn't in the interior. I note that the
forecast low for Vostok today is -106F, with a wind chill of -133F. And
it's still only early autumn.

I note on the chart, the depictions for the CO2 levels stop abruptly at
about 2,000 years ago. Why is that?

Of course, it only rarely happened at the rate of change we're seeing
