If these trucks are allowed in a tinky winky country like holland I can't
really see the objection to allowing them here , perhaps so long as they
were limited to motorways and other major routes doing depot to depot
transfers , rather than in town deliveries.

Well that is one major part of the reason he did it - to challenge the
law and get it clarified.

He doesn't really have hands on daily - his son Peter does that. He did,
however, go to the trouble of reapplying for his licence to do this.

Because the argument is that lorries hold up traffic. IME, its been the
other way around.

...as in some traffic (or drivers) hold up HGV's - I agree.

I agree with you in some respects, but what about the lorry police
approaching roadworks?
