The package is basically 3 months notice, + 3 weeks redundancy for the
time I've been there, + any holiday/flexi hours I have left.

They said they haven't said whether it would be worked notice or lieue.

Taking the crappy job would make interviews difficult when I would need
to keep taking time off for the hour drive back as I'm planning to work
closer to home if possible.

I agree, I've found mine suprisingly fun to chuck about after having larger
cars for a few years.
Parts are dirt cheap, I replaced a (plastic*) drop link today for 10.50.

I bought my pristine 1/2 leather interior for 30 on eBay, couple of hours
to fit and it's a different car to sit in.

The price they are there's no real reason to torture yourself with an N/A
diesel, surely ?

*plastic, really ffs.

What he said. Take the pay cut and start looking for another job. It is way
easier to find a job if you already have one because to the potential employer
it looks like you are already wanted.

Told you I meant Starship miles.
ISTR he kept it for 2 years, only put 3k miles on it because all his
miles were local, and sold it for more than he paid. Didn't let him down
once in that time, and only one bit of trouble he had was a hose that
popped off the intake between the turbo and the engine. Only took a few
minutes to put back on and clamp tighter.
