If, by "beer", you mean ale, then - yes. Both ale & lager are beer.

So you're happy to drink Leffe, on the basis that it's top-fermented, but
refuse to drink anything bottom-fermented on principle?

Or are you getting "lager" as a whole confused with the foul chemical-
factory pisswater which is the usual draft mass-market fizz?

All I can say, is that I've been offered and tasted many lagers over
the years (including Belgian blonde stuff) and I haven't liked any of it.
