I find it _very_ difficult to believe that TrafPlod in an unmarked would
stop YOU in that situation, unless he believed that your manouvre was so
badly executed as to increase the danger.

Well, they did. Perhaps they were bored.
I didn't do it dangerously. Like I said, I drove past him very
carefully and watched him like a hawk, in case he suddenly were to swing in.

Since you'd be pulling back out despite no need to do so, you'd be being
almost as big a bell-end as the one you've just passed, so...

I got stopped by an unmarked once. I overtook them in a 2CV.

I wasn't actually breaking the limit, but they told me I looked like I
was "about to roll over and should slow down..."
