The authors observed following headway (defined as time interval between a vehicle and the preceding vehicle in the same lane) and obtained records of crash involvement and traffic violations of drivers through photographs of license plates of observed vehicles. Crash involved drivers were more likely to follow with short headways (less than 1 second) than crash free drivers. A similar effect was found in comparing drivers with and without traffic violations.</q> ANALYSIS OF SPEED AND OTHER UNSAFE DRIVING ACTS (PDF 2.8MB) http://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/872/2/80583.0001.001.pdf ----- - gpsman

If you do, you probably will be tailgated sooner or later. nate -- replace "roosters" with "cox" to reply. http://members.cox.net/njnagel

I forgot to mention... that was while passing in front of a police station. The parking lot seen on the left (of the frame) is it.

So, I'm the problem for driving the posted limit in front of the police station where the cop runs radar some mornings? I thought you've said you stay ticket free without a radar detector by being alert to cops and not speeding in stupid places. > One of the reasons I almost never get tailgated is because I'm driving > 85th percentile or better. And yet you claim to be ticket free for 20 years or some such. It's one or the other scoupie. How do you suggest I not be ticketed doing 10+ over? (although usually, I am one of the faster drivers on this road as it is one of those two lane roads I mentioned previously where most people in front of me drive under the speed limit) |
