Well, how accurate is your speedo, and theirs?

I've checked mine, so I drive AT 100kph.

The middle lanes of the Monash freeway is full of drivers doing 95 or
even 90. The 90 kph'ers probably have 95 kph on their speedo, and have
"WIPED OFF FIVE" coz the govt told them to.

Well - get right to it - get out there and fine/convict the STUPIDS.
That's the complete requirement.
And yes most any law of the thousands out there can be used on an as
required basis.
After all, the laws have been enacted in the general direction of getting
to the stupids, with the possible exception of the laws that are in
themselves stupid, of course - like the arbitrary speed limits.

I'm thinking that the vast majority of speedos over-read by 4 to 6 Km/Hr@
actual 100Km/Hr. IIRC, speedos are permitted +4, -0 % in our market.
That's what my GPS and my (over-reading) speedo tell me every day.
Handy, though - 'cause I can get past annoying speed varying dickheads
exhibiting (to them) much bwarvado and dewwing-do and in the process run no
risk of being nailed by the pigs. Well, the honest ones, known as 'police',
anyway.

The solution could not possibly be more obvious.
We can no longer afford the rich.

Qld crash statistics have consisently show around 10% of drivers
involved in serious crashes (those involving fatalities and injuries)
are unlicensed. Perhaps they've been lying for years!

OTOH if they're not lying which group would you assume the unlicensed
drivers would predominately belong to....

1) Those who can't be bothered coughing up the licence fee?
2) Errant school kids who aren't old enough to drive?
3) Disqualified drivers?
4) Others?

My money's still on 3)! :)

It does that but whilst the cop is in view they do tend to keep left and
not tailgate but of course everything returns to normal within minutes
of the cop disappearing.

I've spotted a few cops doing that behind me when I was driving trucks
and they don't seem to like it when you back off by about 20kph:-)

Good question that Govt's and Police evade regularly.
Vic Police must be monitoring this newsgroup and know where I live
because I saw another traffic police car this morning:-)
