Forester manual is a bit vague but it may be possible on some models,
according to the book if it is possible the function can only be turned
on/off by a dealer
No mention of that function in the Hilux manual.

According to the owner's manual, Liberty models can be customised
using the optional sat nav (which does lots of other things as well).
Otherwise dealers can supposedly change settings on those cars that
don't have the sat nav, but since there's no mention of how to do it
in the service manual I wouldn't like the chances of finding a
dealership apprentice who could! :)

Presumably it's a function of the genuine scan tool (which the dealer
should have). Whether anyone at the dealership knows how to read its
instruction book is likely to be the next problem. ;-)

Not a function that I care to have so I won't be troubling the dealer
about when the car eventually gets its first service.
