From: ian h on 7 Jul 2010 19:09 Have a Mazda 6 2010 model. At the moment, when you unlock the car with the remote, all doors unlock. Not a good safety feature. Ideally only the drivers door should unlock. Stops thefts at traffic lights etc Asked the local dealership, was told it couldn't be done, all or nothing. I used to have a '96 vs commodore that could be programmed either way. If you google it, there are pages of ways to program Mazda keys, but they all appear to be for replicating another key. Any thoughts or help appreciated ...Ian

How is that not a good safety feature? > Ideally only the drivers door should unlock. > Stops thefts at traffic lights etc Thefts at traffic lights? Jeez, you must live in a bad area. > I used to have a '96 vs commodore > that could be programmed either way. > > If you google it, there are pages of ways to program > Mazda keys, but they all appear to be for replicating > another key. > > Any thoughts or help appreciated Here's a solution: Unlock the doors with the fob, get in the car and then press the "lock" button to lock the doors after you if you're that worried about it. Either that, or you could just grow a pair. -- Regards, Noddy.

I don't see it as a problem, if you are worried someone might get into the car when stopped at traffic lights just lock the doors once you get inside. Daryl

Have a read of the manual on all your cars, I didn't find it on the Ford until I was reading the manual from front to back 3 years after owning it Since my wife was working at a shopping centre and closing the shop alone(and she now works nights at a Hospital) I programmed it for her to only unlock the drivers door, you just press the button a second time to unlock all doors Kev
