My guess is that they were able to resolve that with the fuel injected
cars although, I've never driven one of those.

You're probably right. Well, I had my time with them and it was a gas -
luckily gas wasn't as expensive as it is now. :-)

I don't know about that. They seem to do well enough in ALMS, Le Mans and
the FIA GT1. BTW a while ago I ran across a pdf file of the FIA
homogulation for the 85-90 (?) versions of the car along with some other
bits and pieces on an ftp site (including a book on tuning Weber
carbourators). That site has now disappeared. Would there be any interest
here in such things being made available?

Injectors can be shut off entirely, which is difficult to do with a
carburetor.
