From: His Highness the TibetanMonkey, ComandanteBanana and Chief of Quixotic Enterprises on 7 May 2010 23:18 I know Miami deserves some kind of reward... the most Darwinist city for biking and walking. The catch is that in order to reserve the award someone has to die... "The Darwin Awards salute the improvement of the human genome by honoring those who accidentally remove themselves from it..." http://www.darwinawards.com/darwin/ Maybe I'll volunteer some day. ;) --------------------------------------------------- THE WISE TIBETAN MONKEY SAYS "Stupid monkeys make history" http://webspawner.com/users/BANANAREVOLUTION
From: His Highness the TibetanMonkey, ComandanteBanana and Chief of Quixotic Enterprises on 8 May 2010 10:30 I will talk now about the MOST DARWINIST COUNTRY. But first let's talk about the least Darwinist or smartest country... The German Tourism industry and the federal train system (Deutsches Bundesbahn," but just "DB" or Die Bahn) have cooperated in making the entire country bicycle friendly. In Germany, individuals, groups, and entire families take bicycling vacations for a week or more. A friend once told me of his negative experience bicycling in Germany 30 years ago. He complained it was like a blood sport. However, he rode on the roads with the cars for two reasons; he did not have a map showing the bike paths and there were few signed bicycle routes back then. We almost never ride on high-traffic roads; most of the time we are on some type of bike path or at least a low-traffic road. http://bicyclegermany.com/bicycling_in_germany.htm *** So while Germany lost the war, it won the peace and now it is the winner in friendly places, while America and her former allies have stayed in the competition for the most stupid or Darwinist places. I can only report this much, but if you want to send your $ contribution, I will go there myself and give you a first hand account. Nothing to report from here other than it is a jungle. ;)
