I wonder what it will be? The tories are the most pro car, the libs
the least (the new guard being mostly metrosexual trendies? Although
there are plenty of remote rural seats where most people know the
value of a car).
The tories were talking about abolishing camera partnerships, wonder
if that will happen?

They need to raise money to pay off the debt somehow. Drivers are the source
least likely to cause rioting on the streets so don't expect things to change
much.

Ah, but that was when they were in opposition. You don't really expect them
(or any other party) to honour their promises, do you?

the Tory idea is savage cuts to services, certainly I would expect tax
to also rise, but I would be more worried if I thought I might be
using those services (or provided them) than as a driver. The liberal
idea always *used* to be high taxes are good, but Clegg reversed that.
I'm guessing road pricing is off the agenda?

If they are lucky, economic recovery will make it easy for them and
they will look as if they achieved it.

As someone put it on R4 this morning, a generation of socially liberal
Tories have met a generation of economically liberal Liberals, and
they quite like each other. They're mostly young, male, privately
educated and very similar.
