They certainly didn't win it on their own but if they weren't involved
Holland would probably be still be run by the Germans and I'm sure you
wouldn't be too happy about that.

The Canadians and English liberated the Netherlands.
Yes the allies including the Americans contributed to the victory but 93% of
all German casualties were sustained on the Russian front.

That was decisive.

The only difference between current wars and previous wars is the amount
of video taken by almost everyone involved.
If I was a Commander over there the first thing I would do would be to
make it a very serious offence for any of my men to be caught owning or
using any sort of camera, posting a video on the net would be treason
with very serious punishment.
The war in Afghanistan is not being fought against the Taliban, its
being fought against public opinion in the US and around the world so
winning is near on impossible.

It sure is.

I cant imagine where you got the justification for that statement. The US
has a population of 300 odd million? Sheer populatrion size = military
output. They have the cutting edge of weapons not only of precise
targetting, but mass destruction. They dont parade their future-generation
weapons every May-day, like the Russians,..they do not need to. But on a
comparitive front, the Russians have multi-nuclear warheads residing in
Typhoon class subs,..just like the yanks. Itis a page of mutually assured
destruction that neither side wants to open.
