Isn't it odd that now, there has been news of dodgy ceiling insulation
problems with I think, 5 deaths from it.

Jumping Jack Garrett is jumping all around the place trying to get out of
it.

Proves what others here have been saying about the dangers of the foil
insulation

They're as grounded as the roof sheeting as soon as the screws holding the
sheets down are driven in.

Umm, no they are not. Steel roofs are bonded to earth electrically, or should be.

Each sheet is connected via the screws yes, but the roof in its entirety should be bonded, esp if
the incomming mains is via an aerial connection.

(And my OP was supposed to be $400 or $500 extra not 4500)

Umm, yes they are.

The screws that go through the roofing tin also go through the sarking
material. If the roof tin is grounded, then so is the sarking.
