I agree. Such basic maintenance should be part of the driving test. They've
extended it to cover checking oil and coolant, why not changing a wheel?

Still need to get the damn thing off to get it to a tyre place, then back
on again afterwards. The only difference is the amount of time the car's
on the jack.

the AA go and get the puncture repaired and then return and fit it?
