that is still in good order, Arena is the place for hard racing !!! Mind
you I went to watch at a track in a field at Braintree once, they had an
enormous tree in the middle of the track, and a high speed banked bend,
trouble was that there was nothing to stop the cars leaving the track and
hurtling to their doom off the top, in addition the local cars had their
cooling systems inside the cockpit. The St. John people were kept really
busy at that track, I would not race there, it was too risky.

At the time we still ran with radiators in the back. There's a
photograph somewhere of me standing in my overalls on the infield gently
steaming after I rolled a van on a cold March day.

Top Tip: don't attach the radiator frame to both the roof and floor of
your van banger as it rips the radiator in half when you roll.
