This is bound to be a famous quote in the future:

"We all have a rat inside, but some feed it while others try to tame
it"

That future will come when we all start living like rats.

I think we agreed before Aesop was a much deeper man than Jesus,
right? ;)

The Cat-Maiden
by Aesop

The gods were once disputing whether it was possible for a living
being to change its nature. Jupiter said "Yes," but Venus said
"No." So, to try the question, Jupiter turned a Cat into a Maiden,
and gave her to a young man for a wife. The wedding was duly
performed and the young couple sat down to the wedding-feast. "See,"
said Jupiter, to Venus, "how becomingly she behaves. Who could tell
that yesterday she was but a Cat? Surely her nature is changed?"

"Wait a minute," replied Venus, and let loose a mouse into the room.
No sooner did the bride see this than she jumped up from her seat and
tried to pounce upon the mouse. "Ah, you see," said Venus, "Nature
will out."

The good news is we can tame the rat inside the same way we can tame
the one outside. Yes, they are lovely pets, and I want to get one to
study human nature some more.

I just need the research money now. ;)

Of course, he's too lazy to go to church on Sundays. ;)

Anyway, the crazy ladies keep teasing the Wise Tibetan Monkey... You
know what happens, right?

But I can give an excuse for the lion to eat me if I use violence.
It's better to be smart. After dumping the food for a while, I will
put it in another people's path. "Not in my backyard!"

Under the rules of the revolution this will be punishable and
enforced. They can NOT feed cats or wildlife in public property. Yes,
that includes the HOMELESS, since we will NOT have homeless either.

Hey Gemini, there's some greater threat than feral cats and crazy
ladies on a "charity" mission...

It's perfectly understood by a powerful symbol: A DRY WATER FOUNTAIN
WITH HOMELESS SITTING AROUND. Once upon a time, a fountain symbolized
a sense of CIVILIZATION, ART AND COMMUNITY. Now the emphasis has been
shifted FROM COMMUNITY TO GATED COMMUNITY.

My community has such a dry fountain with the homeless while the
people have turned indifferent to it all. Those who can afford it move
to gated communities and live in anonymity. It's "trendy."

I guess we do live in the last days of civilization, and in that sense
the Christians are right. They are part of the problem!

Anyway here's to beauty and hope...
